What we do

CTS develops and produces an innovative range of high-performance, ultra-light compressed gas
cylinders. By leveraging our expertise, we have taken advantage of the opportunities offered by
composite materials offer to create the lightest and safest pressure vessels ever designed.

CTS’s groundbreaking technology involves the production of Type 4 cylinders, made from carbon
fibre and resin, with an ultra-lightweight PET (polyethylene terephthalate) liner inside.
Type 4 composite cylinders represent the latest evolution in cylinder manufacturing:

Type 1 – Steel or aluminium alloy cylinders
Type 2 and 3 – Cylinders with a metal structure and liner
Type 4 – The latest advancement, offering superior lightness and performance

In designing these next-generation cylinder, CTS prioritises the needs of the end-user. Our cylinders provide:

CTS has a well-equipped laboratory to test its cylinders beyond all limits. Every test is conducted
in-house, using our advanced test benches, covering everything from hydraulic testing to burst
testing.

Our cutting-edge technology and vision for innovation place quality at the heart of our organisation
and processes.
The adoption of an ISO 9001 quality management system is a natural outcome of Composite
Technical Systems S.p.A.'s strategic approach.

Our customers are our core business, and our main commitment is to identify, understand, and meet their needs, leveraging our technical and communication skills. Listening is the foundation of our communication, and it is through the feedback received that we have been able to perfect all our products.

The demands in the international market are numerous, but nothing stops us from providing a product that satisfies our customers' needs. That's why we offer the option to customize cylinders with their own logos or choose the color of the polyolefinic coating, for example. Manufacturing flexibility, adherence to delivery times, product reliability, and pre and post-sales technical support are the basis for a strong relationship with our customers.

The 6.0 - 6.8 - 7.2 - 9.0 lt/300 bar SCBA/SCUBA models are born

2012

The 2.0lt/300 bar SCBA/SCUBA model is born

2013

CTS has about 15 people in its workforce

CTS obtains ISO 9001 certification

2014

CTS is already on the European market with more than 8000 cylinders

Model 3.0lt/300 bar SCBA/SCUBA is born

2015

The 6.0 - 6.8 - 7.2 -9.0 lt/300 bar T-PED approved models are born

The 2.0 - 3.0 - 6.0 - 6.8 - 7.2 - 9.0 lt/300 bar models approved for HYDROGEN are born

For a major customer (HNE), a special project was designed exclusively for which CTS homologated, certified and produced a system for an ultralight foam extinguisher model

2017

CTS introduces a new type of protective cap with higher impact resistance, greater flame resistance and improved aesthetic finish

2018

Interspiro AB acquires CTS and integrates it into the Ocenco Group

The 2.0lt/300 bar + 3.0lt/300 bar T-PED approved models are born

CTS expands its market by also making a name for itself in non-European markets such as Australia and South Korea. CTS becomes the first company in the world to have type 4 cylinders with KGS approval for South Korea

2019

CTS obtains DOT (USA) certificate for 6.8 lt/310 bar cylinders

2020

CTS obtains DOT (USA) certificate for 9.0 lt/310 bar cylinders

2021

At Interspiro's request, CTS developed a new breathing air cylinder model: the 3.5lt/310 bar PED

CTS obtains DOT Certificate (USA) for 7.2lt/310bar cylinders

2022

The 13.0lt/310 bar SCBA/SCUBA and T-PED model is born

CTS obtains DOT (USA) certificate for 3.5lt/310bar cylinders

2023

CTS obtains DOT (USA) certificate for 3.0lt/310bar + 2.0lt/310bar
